Optics for Bird Watching

I’m frequently asked what are the best optics - binoculars - for bird watching. Here I list what I reckon are the best models by the best brands. Unfortunately Swarovski - probably my favourite optics-maker - seems to have deleted its optics from Amazon so I’ve left them off the list below for now.
